Outlook Training Day 6 – OWA web push notification

For an outlook client who is using Outlook on the web would often like to be notified of meeting remainders and incoming email messages. The user can enable the desktop notification and receive the notification even if the outlook on web is closed but the browser is open. The notification appear on the corner of your screen will facilitates the user so that the web client user will get rid of missing the emails when they are working on the different tabs of the browser.

Below is the demonstration on how we can enable the desktop notification

On the settings (Gear), you can enable the Desktop Notification directly. Also, you will get more options if you click on view all outlook settings.

On the General Tab, Notification settings is available.

You can also turn on the desktop notifications from here.

Soon after you enable the desktop notification that Outlook.office.com want to show notification. Allow the URL to send the notification.

Now it will show where the email notification will appear.

Now let's check by sending the email from another user.

Result:

1.The notification is received even when the user is working in different tab.

2.The notification is received even if the user working on different application but the browser is opened.

3.The notification is received even if the user is not logged on in the browser.
