Outlook Training Day 14 – Junk Email in Outlook

Junk Email in Outlook

Everyday a lot of emails are received in the junk folder, if outlook suspect unusual behavior in the pattern of the email, then it moves the suspected emails to the Junk Folder thus it is good to check the Junk folder regularly. If any legitimate emails were classified incorrectly on the Junk, then you can move it to the inbox. By default, automatic filtering is applied, and all the incoming emails are checked but you can add the filter if you think the emails are not from the trusted source. Below are the steps on how to add the user or the domain in the Junk list.

In the Settings (gear), click on view outlook settings.

Junk email options is available on the “Mail” Tab. If you feel that one of the email addresses which is sending you the emails regularly is not a trusted source, then you can add the email address to the Junk list.

To add the email address, click on add. Now, type the email address, click “Enter key” and save the configuration.

Since the email has been added to the list and all the emails from the sender must be received in the junk folder. Let’s see the result, what happens if the user sends an email.

The email is received in the Junk Folder.

In some cases, the user or domain emails may be legitimate but might have been treated as junk. In that case you can add the sender or the domain in the safe sender list which will prevent the emails to be treated as Junk.

If you scroll down, you can also have more filtering option. Apply it as per your requirement.
